Posted in first love with tags angkor wat, begin again, black, challenge, Geisha, Japan, Kyoto, Mountain, photo, playlist, pulag, siem reap, splitter, White Island on December 21, 2014 by romaadnexaThere’s this black and white photo challenge happening around facebook. For those who have been “nominated”, you need to be able to post a black and white photo everyday for five consecutive days. After that, you also have to nominate another five that shall post their five black and white photos, and so on, and so on.
Here are my top five black and white photos. Thanks to my basic photography teacher, Jo Avila for the post processing technique. 🙂
My first

My first post. This was taken at the peak of Mt. Pulag. I have been to many places but nothing beats the sight of those clouds at the peak.
![Second post. Remnants of my first solo flight, taken at Angkor Wat. The beauty of the walls is just breathtaking.](https://adnexa.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/bw-angkor-wat.jpg?w=432&h=287)
Second post. Remnants of my first solo flight, taken at Angkor Wat. The beauty of the walls is just breathtaking.
![Fourth post. A chance encounter with a geisha. We thought we did not make it on time, but our right turn was just right. This was taken at Kyoto, Japan.](https://adnexa.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/geisha.jpg?w=439&h=237)
Fourth post. A chance encounter with a geisha. We thought we did not make it on time, but our right turn was just right.
This was taken at Kyoto, Japan.
![And last but not the least, I posted this photo of splitter in black and white. I dedicate this post to the love of my life. When we learned each other's taste in music, there was an instant connection we could not deny. And from then on I knew, I will love this person for the rest of my life. :)](https://adnexa.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/bw-challenge3-copy.jpg?w=437&h=249)
And last but not the least, I posted this photo of splitter in black and white. I dedicate this post to the love of my life. When we listened to each other’s playlists, there was an instant connection we could not deny. And from then on I knew, I will keep this person for the rest of my life. 🙂
Geisha
Posted in carpe diem, first love with tags Asia, Geisha, Gion, Japan, Kyoto, Maiko, Satsuki, Travel, Trip on June 29, 2014 by romaadnexaThis was one of the highlights of my recent Japan trip. We already gave up the thought of seeing a geisha around the Gion area since it was past 4pm. Luckily, while we were walking towards Nishiki market; we stumbled upon one or two geishas walking around the area.
After posting this on my instagram account, random people started making comments saying that this was Satsuki-san, one of the most popular maiko in Gion to date. As a fan of Memoirs of a Geisha, I could not ask for more. 🙂
Mt. Fuji
Posted in carpe diem, first love with tags Asia, Japan, Lake Kawaguchiko, Mountain, Mt. Fuji, Travel on June 28, 2014 by romaadnexaOne of my favorite scenic spots in Japan. Mt. Fuji was insanely beautiful; I describe it as an apparition on a clear horizon, and I just could not take my eyes off of it.
Kinkakuji Temple

Will definitely go back during the Sakura season to take a photo of the temple in this exact same spot.
spicy pork adobo
Posted in first love with tags adobo, filipino, food, pinoy, pork on February 8, 2014 by romaadnexaWhile everyone’s busy perfecting their pastries and cakes … i’m here trying to cook some spicy pork adobo. It’s a popular filipino dish that the world loves. If ever any of you visit the Philippines, you shouldn’t leave the country without trying this dish!
Here’s the link for the recipe I used:
